657 Solid Mig Wire For Bronze Alloys Tensile 50000 Elongation 34% Polarity Dcep Excellent Resistance To Corrosion (30 US Pounds)
A unique bronze alloy for welding all types of metals. Deposits are non-sparking, ductile and corrosion resistant.
Versatile welds all metals
Corrosion resistant
Great for porous cast iron
Excellent for bearing surfaces
Work hardens during use
Deposit will take a high polish
Clean the surface to be welded. Three shielding gases or mixtures are typically used. These are pure argon (which provides the best spray transfer), 98% argon/2% O2 and 75% argon/25% helium. Precautions should be taken to ensure the purity of the shielding gas coverage. Air contamination of the shielding gas can cause a multitude of problems such as black scale on the weld surface, porosity, brittleness of the weld, reduced corrosion resistance, and poor arc stability. Preheat according to the type and thickness of the base metal. The drag angle of the welding gun should be approximately 5°-15° to ensure proper gas coverage of the weld pool. Use a stringer or weave technique for spray transfer, but a short arc is preferred for out-of-position work.
Tensile strength as deposited: 50,000 psi/345 Mpa
Yield strength: 25,000 psi/172 Mpa
Hardness as deposited: up to 100 BHN
Elongation: 55%
Machinability: Good
Corrosion resistance: Excellent
Current: DCEP
Gas: 100% Ar, 75% Ar/25% He, 98% Ar/2% O2
