For best results remove any base metal contamination (dirt, grease, rust, scale, etc.). Most materials can be welded without preheating; however, some materials are best welded with preheat because of the base metal composition. USE DCSP. For best results chip slag between passes and slow (air) cool. A leading gun angle (backhand technique) increases penetration for multipass welds. A lagging gun angle (push technique) decreases penetration for thin materials and out-of-position welds.
• Tensile strength: 91,000 psi/627 Mpa
• Yield strength: 65,000 psi/448 Mpa
• Hardness: 91 Rb
• Elongation: 24%
• Current: DCEN*
• Gas: None
